Footage only helps if the plate is readable. The DAZA SQ12 pairs two Sony STARVIS 2 sensors — 4K IMX678 front, 2.5K IMX675 rear — so the detail that settles a claim survives the dark, the rain and the glare. It replaces your rear-view mirror with a 12-inch touchscreen, takes voice commands, and ships with the OBD hardwire cable already in the box.

Dual Sony STARVIS 2 Sensors — Night Vision That Reads Plates

4K on a Sony IMX678 up front, 2.5K on a Sony IMX675 behind — both STARVIS 2 with HDR, capturing roughly 30% more light with less motion blur than the previous generation. That is what holds a licence plate inside a headlight flare instead of blowing out the frame. Combined field of view is 280°: 135° front, 145° rear.

12" Ultra-Clear 1200-Nit Display, Rated for Real Weather

Most mirror dash cams use a 600–800 nit panel that washes out in sun. The SQ12 runs 1200 nits with anti-glare and adjustable brightness — readable at midday, comfortable after dark. It is tested from -20°C to 70°C with battery protection built in.

Intelligent Voice Control

Eight hands-free commands: show front camera, show rear camera, open screen, turn off display, open recording, turn off recording, take picture, lock the video. Locking a clip by voice mid-incident beats fumbling for a button.

Rear Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

The SQ12 tracks vehicles closing from behind, shows their distance on screen, and sounds an alert when one enters your blind spot — left and right side both covered.

5.8GHz Wi-Fi, App Control and Built-In GPS

5.8GHz Wi-Fi transfers at around 10MB/s — roughly 4× faster than the 2.4GHz radios most dash cams use. The free Journey Nice app (iOS and Android) handles live preview, settings, downloads and one-tap sharing, so evidence comes off the camera in seconds. And every clip already carries location, route and speed from the included GPS module — when a claim comes down to how fast you were going, the data is in the file.

Records Around the Clock — Nothing Extra to Buy

Loop recording overwrites the oldest footage so the camera never stops — anything the G-sensor flags, or you lock by voice, stays protected. Park up and it keeps watching: collision detection locks the clip, time-lapse condenses the quiet hours, and battery protection stops it draining your battery. The 128GB card and OBD hardwire cable are both in the box, where most brands charge extra.

Reverse Camera and Parking Assistance

The rear camera doubles as a backup camera with on-screen guidelines, and the 27ft cable reaches compact cars, SUVs, pickups and camper vans alike.

Total View Control

Swipe the 12-inch screen between split front + rear, front only, or rear only — and tilt the rear view up or down to catch low obstacles, line up a trailer, or bring a plate into frame. No headrest, passenger or cargo in the way.

FAQs

Not sure it fits your car, or how parking mode works? Start here.

1. Do I need to buy a hardwire kit for parking mode?

No. The OBD hardwire cable is included. Plug it into your OBD port and 24-hour parking monitoring works without any extra purchase — most competitors sell that cable separately.

2. What is STARVIS 2 and why does it matter?

STARVIS 2 is Sony's latest generation of automotive image sensors. Compared with earlier sensors it captures around 30% more light and shows less motion blur, which is what makes plates legible at night and in the rain rather than just visible.

3. Will it drain my car battery?

No. The OBD cable includes low-voltage battery protection that shuts the camera down before your battery reaches a level that would prevent starting.

4. Can I use it as a backup camera?

Yes. The rear camera displays parking guidelines on the mirror screen, and you can tilt the rear view up or down on screen to suit your vehicle.

5. Will it fit my vehicle?

The mirror straps over your existing rear-view mirror and the 27ft rear cable covers compact cars, SUVs, pickup trucks and camper vans. Vehicles with unusually large mirror housings or built-in mirror electronics should be measured first.

6. How much footage fits on the included card?

The 128GB card included gives you several hours of continuous dual-channel recording before loop recording begins overwriting the oldest clips. Any clip locked by the G-sensor or by voice command is protected from the loop.
